On 14 May 2016, local children presented science projects in the Hub at the first Cambourne Science Fair. People around Cambourne looked at the projects, asked questions and interacted with the young scientists. The participants of the Science Fair were not scored for their projects. Instead, everyone received a participation certificate along with prizes to acknowledge their ingenuity and to encourage them to continue their passion for science.
This was a unique event as the children got an opportunity to plan their own experiments and demonstrate themselves. It had given them enough confidence for future science experiments.
