Against the backdrop of Cambourne’s Hub, Mrs. Jennifer Crompton, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire, MP Antony Browne, and Darryl Preston, the Police and Crime Commissioner, kindled the celebratory flames, officially inaugurating the Diwali festivities on October 15, 2022.

CamCare UK, known for its dedication to diversity and inclusion, opened its arms to the community, making the Diwali celebration an accessible and free event for all. Local artists from Cambridgeshire and London infused the celebration with cultural vibes, contributing to the festivities with quizzes, raffles, Michelin chef dinners, Bollywood dance, and a spectacular display of Diwali fireworks. The event celebrated local talent and provided an engaging experience for residents of all ages.

As the evening progressed, the Hub Community Centre buzzed with activity, hosting world leaders’ messages, Diwali presentations, speeches by esteemed guests, Puja, aarti, and the ceremonial lighting of lamps. The event’s inclusivity drew participants from local towns, villages, and nearby cities, creating a vibrant tapestry of cultures.
