Diverse yet united community of the world 2018

SOUTH ASIAN NEW YEAR CELEBRATION: Most of the Indian and South Asian countries' New Years Vishu, Puthandu, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Pana Sankranti, Navreh, Cheti Chand, Bihu, Poila Baishakh and Nobo-borsho along with Punjab and Haryana’s crop festival Baishakhi were celebrated in Cambourne Hub Community Centre on Sunday 15th April. Parish Councillor and organiser, Shrobona Bhattacharya, explained how several states of India along with Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka celebrated their diversity under one roof in Cambourne. "The community spirit connected the people of Cambourne where people embraced each other and celebrated their New Year as one community. Cambourne broke the traditional practice of celebrating New Year within ethnic boundaries and came together to set an example of a diverse yet united community to the world."
