Cambourne 4th Science Festival 2019-Empowering Young Minds

ScienceFestival2019

Cambourne Science Festival has created a unique platform where children demonstrate and explain their homemade Science Projects to the public.

Over seventy budding scientists aged 5 to 16 years took initiative to engage with the public by demonstrating and answering the questions. Children came along with their homemade Science projects and exhibited their work to the public. The festival was well attended by more than 300 visitors at Hub Community on Saturday 11th May.

The mission of the Science Festival is to provide students with a gateway to cultivate their inquisitive nature, exercise innovation, think critically and collaborate to become tomorrow’s innovators who are self-sufficient learners.

Cambourne Science Festival is free to the public and is organised by CamCare UK, which is a “non-profit” charity registered in England. CamCare UK acknowledges the support of Cambourne Parish Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambourne Timebank and Mediatek to conduct this annual festival.

This Science Festival is a service to the local community and its positive impact is felt by many enthusiast parents and children in the local community. UK risks STEM labour shortage of half a million by 2023. Encouraging children’s interest towards STEM is a priority and CamCare UK is working to fill up this shortfall.
