Fundraising Dinner for Syrian children by Cambourne Cookery Club

Cookery club fund raising dinner 2017

If you have recently moved to Cambourne and you want to make new friends, you love experimenting with food from around the world and like to be invited by your neighbours or other cookery members – then join the Cambourne cookery club! It is best way to do it all.

The purpose of the Cambourne cookery club is to grow friendship within the neighbourhood and what better way to do this than with food and exploring new recipes together!

Cookery club members acquire many friends in their own neighbourhood and they get invited by the other members to attend dinners. With ongoing dinners, we know each other better and this helps to kill loneliness. Members always feel included by the other families. At the end of all dinner rotas, we organize a Fundraising dinner to do our bit for the society.

This year Cambourne cookery members raised £1352.00 for Syrian war children and east African drought victims for British Red Cross  on Sunday 14th May 2017. The  sitting dinner was attended by 120 guests from various communities and was arranged in the Hub Community centre by the cookery club members with many varieties of experimental recipes from Levantine cuisine.
