CERC Clinches Sixth Consecutive Cambridge Regional Championship in FIRST LEGO League 2024

We are overjoyed to share the exciting news that, for the sixth consecutive time in Cambridgeshire, CERC has emerged as the Regional Champion in the FIRST LEGO League Robotics Competition, held on Tuesday, 16th January 2024! 🚀🤖 This remarkable achievement is a testament to our incredible team of children’s dedication, passion, and innovation, supported by our devoted coaches, parents, and inspiring mentors.

A Triumph of Collective Brilliance and Unwavering Spirit

Hosted by the esteemed Engineering Department at Cambridge University and organized by IET, this victory underscores our collective brilliance and unwavering spirit in Science and Technology. 🌟 The competition, which witnessed the participation of more than 135 students from 14 different schools, showcased the outstanding capabilities of young minds in robotics and STEM.

Championing Innovation and ExcellenceFirst Lego League

The event centred around the theme Master Piece and encouraged participants to explore STEM within the art industry, fostering innovative ways to communicate art globally. At the heart of this jam-packed celebration, several noteworthy achievements were recognized. Sharnbrook Academy was honoured with the Best Innovation Project prize, while Brick Brain from Colchester Royal Grammar School clinched the Core Values trophy. Team Wonkey Bricks from Cambridge was lauded for Best Robot Design.

Double Victory for CERC: Best Robot Game and Championship Awards

In a thrilling conclusion to the award ceremony, CERC secured not one but two prestigious trophies—The Best Robot Game Award and the Championship Award for 2024. This incredible feat qualifies CERC to participate in the UK National competition on the 20th of April 2024 at Harrogate.
