Cambourne witnessed its post-covid Festival of lights Diwali or Deepa-vali (in Sanskrit, Deepa means light and Vali means in a row, thus, Diwali signifies as the series of lights) on Sunday 31st October at the Hub community centre.
After a hiatus of 15 months, Cambourne Mela festival made a triumphant return on Sunday, June 6th, 2021, organized by CamCare UK. The much-needed community event took careful measures, including an NHS event QR code, to ensure the safety of attendees with adherence to social distancing, mask-wearing, hand sanitation, and more.
Every year, the festival of colours in Cambourne brings people together. Friendship and Bonding grow more robust in the community celebrating the festivals. CamCare UK tried to innovatively hold a similar festive mood this year in 2021 during the Covid lockdown to keep the festivity on.
